| What is a Foundation? |
Scholarship Applications are available through area schools and can be obtained through the Guidance Office per individual school policy. AGENCY FUNDS: AirLifeline Fund: Earned income used from this fund goes to the operation of the AirLifeLine program. Champion International/George Romney Fund: Earned income from this fund goes to the operation of the DICSA Volunteer Services Center. The Center is involved in community volunteerism. Friends of Camp Batawagama Legacy Fund: Earned income is used for the benefit of Camp Batawagama. Northpointe Behavioral Healthcare Systems Agency Fund: Earned income from this fund goes to the operation of the agency. Salvation Army Endowed Agency Fund: Earned income from this fund goes to the operation of the agency.Administrative Endowment Fund: Earned income used from this fund to ensure the continuation of the community foundation. Caviani, Ron Scholarship Fund: Earned income from this fund will be used to provide scholarships to graduating students who participated in the school Jazz Band classes at Iron Mountain, Kingsford, and Norway High Schools with scholarships to continue their musical education and participate in a university/college sponsored performing ensemble.Civic Improvement Fund: Earned income to be used for grantmaking that would allow community leaders to invest time, energy and even secure funds in processes that help our communities to collaborate together. Community Health Fund: Earned income from Tobacco Settlement dollars to be used for grantmaking that would address youth and senior tobacco related health issues and tobacco cessation and use prevention programs. Debelak Scholarship Fund: Earned income from this fund will provide graduates of Iron Mountain High School scholarships for education in the following fields: education (with the exception of those majoring in physical education), mathematics, physics, engineering (including, but not limited to, electrical, chemical, mechanical, civil, computer science, and biochemical). Chemistry, botanical or biological-related sciences (including, but not limited to pre-medicine), psychology, health-care related disciplines (nursing, medical laboratory technology, pharmacology, etc.) or law enforcement (including forensic science and related fields).
Environmental-Natural Resources Fund: Earned income from this fund to be used for grantmaking for projects that improve or create methods of enhancing the natural resources within the region.
Forgette Scholarship: Earned income from this fund is used to provide graduates of Kingsford High School with scholarships for education in business fields.
Fine Arts Fund: Earned income from this fund to be used for grantmaking for projects in the area of theatrical, musical & performing arts.
Forest Park Community Projects Fund: Earned income from this fund will go towards grants to promote youth activities for Crystal Falls and the surrounding area.
Forest Park Robert & Jeana Flood Family Scholarship Fund: Earned income from this fund will be used to provide graduates of Forest Park High School scholarships for education in Industrial Distribution, Industrial Technologies or Mechanical Engineering fields.
Forest Park Foundation Fund: Earned income from this fund will go towards grants to promote youth activities for Crystal Falls and the surrounding area.
Forest Park Anna & Caroline Schmid Memorial Scholarship Fund: Earned income from this fund will be used to provide graduates of Forest Park High School scholarships for continuing education in 2 or 4 year college or university.
Forest Park General Scholarship Fund: Twenty-seven individual funds comprise the “General Scholarship” Fund. Earned income from this fund goes towards providing scholarships to graduates of Forest Park High School in a wide variety of fields, as follows: Amasa Gibson Scholarship Fund: Earned income from this fund will be used to provide graduates of Forest Park High School scholarships for continuing education pursuing a four year or an associate degree. Crystal Falls Business Assn. Scholarship Fund: Earned income from this fund is used to provide graduates of Forest Park High School with scholarships for continuing education at a college or university in business fields. Casanova Scholarship: Earned income from this fund is used to provide graduates of Forest Park High School with scholarships for continuing education at a college or university in law or legal fields. Crystal Falls/Forest Park Retired Teachers Scholarship: Earned income from this fund is used to provide graduates of Forest Park High School with scholarships for continuing education at a college or university in education or health related fields. Christ United Henskey Memorial Scholarship: Earned income from this fund is used to provide graduates of Forest Park High School with scholarships for continuing education in a curriculum leading to a degree in a field of service to people or a community of people. Dahms Family Scholarship: Earned income from this fund is used to provide graduates of Forest Park High School with scholarships for education in a post high school training program of at least one school year in length. Preference will be given to students pursuing 1 or 2 year vocational/trade areas which are eligible for scholarships, including, but not limited to the following: nursing/medical programs, business education programs, computer training programs, metals and mechanics programs, cosmetology, environmental management program, child care programs, design and drafting, short-term management programs, forestry. Divine Scholarship: Earned income from this fund is used to provide graduates of Forest Park High School with scholarships for continuing education at a college or university in an education related field. Eckola Scholarship: Earned income from this fund is used to provide scholarships to graduates of Forest Park High School who are entering into a vocational/technical or college/university educational program in a music field of study (instrumental, vocal or educational). If no applicants fulfill the music field of study, second consideration shall be a student entering a vocational/technical or college/university educational program in an education field of study. Forest Park Alumni Assn. Scholarship: Earned income from this fund is used to provide graduates of Forest Park High School pursuing degrees in continuing education at a college or university in any field. Forest Park Band Boosters Scholarship: Earned income from this fund is used to provide scholarships to graduates of Forest Park High School who have been members of the Forest Park High School Band and who have shown superior commitment to the tradition of excellence in the Forest Park Band Department. Forest Park Humanities Scholarship: Earned income from this fund is used to provide graduates of Forest Park High School with scholarships for continuing education at a college or university in humanities related fields. Forest Park Science Scholarship: Earned income from this fund is used to provide graduates of Forest Park High School with scholarships for continuing education at a college or university in science related fields. Forest Park Vocation/Technical Scholarship: Earned income from this fund is used to provide graduates of Forest Park High School with scholarships for continuing education in a vocational/technical school. Galbraith Community Service Scholarship: Earned income from this fund is used to provide graduates of Forest Park High School who have demonstrated exceptional service and commitment to their community with scholarships for continuing education in any field. Galbraith Memorial Band Camp Scholarship Fund: Earned income from this fund will provide scholarships to youth who reside in the Crystal Falls area of Michigan who will be attending the Iron County, Michigan Band Camp. Gondek Scholarship Fund: Earned income from this fund is used to provide graduates of Forest Park High School with scholarships for continuing education a college, seminary or university in religious or music related fields. Henskey Memorial Scholarship Fund: Earned income from this fund is used to provide graduates of Forest Park High School with scholarships for education in education related fields. Hockings Scholarship Fund: Earned income from this fund is used to provide graduates of Forest Park High School with scholarships for continuing education at a college or university in any field. Jacobs Scholarship Fund: Earned income from this fund is used to provide graduates of Forest Park High School with scholarships for continuing education in a college, university or technical school in business or commercial fields. Koob Scholarship Fund: Earned income from this fund is used to provide graduates of Forest Park High School accepted in a 1-2 year program at a technical/vocational school, or to a 4 year program at a college or university with scholarships for education any field. Schenk Scholarship Fund: Earned income from this fund is used to provide graduates of Forest Park High School who have participated in a varsity sport, as a player or manager, for a minimum of two consecutive years; and/or two consecutive years in an extra curricular activity to include but not be limited to student council, band, drama, etc., and who have been accepted in a 2 or 4 year educational program at a vocational school, college or university with scholarships for continuing education any field. Schook Scholarship Fund: Earned income from this fund is used to provide graduates of Forest Park High School with scholarships for continuing education pursuing a degree in nursing, computer science, mathematics or education fields. Sedberry Family Scholarship Fund: Earned income from this fund is used to provide graduates of Forest Park High School with scholarships for continuing education in a college, university in any field. Snell Scholarship Fund: Earned income from this fund is used to provide graduates of Forest Park High School with scholarships for continuing education in a college, university in a field of study will lead to a degree in the Earth Sciences (Geology, Hydrology, Minerology, Meteorology, etc.), Civil Engineering, or Medical fields. St. Edwards Scholarship Fund: Earned income from this fund is used to provide graduates of Forest Park High School with scholarships for continuing education in a college, university in any field. Warner Scholarship Fund: Earned income from this fund is used to provide graduates of Forest Park High School with scholarships for continuing education in a college or university in an education field. West Scholarship Fund: Earned income from this fund is used to provide graduates of Forest Park High School with scholarships for continuing education in a college or university the Conservation, Wildlife, Forest Management or Ecology fields. Forest Park General Historic Preservation Fund: Earned income from this fund will go towards grants to promote youth activities for Crystal Falls and the surrounding area. Forest Park Howard Koob Historic Fund: Earned income from this fund will go towards grants to promote historic preservation for Crystal Falls and the surrounding area. Forest Park Youth Fund: All earned income from this fund is distributed by the Youth Advisory Committee made up of Crystal Falls/Forest Park youth. Francis Youth Community Service Scholarship Fund: Earned income from this fund will go towards providing graduates of Iron Mountain, Crystal Falls/Forest Park, Kingsford, North Dickinson and Norway High Schools with scholarship awards in recognition of demonstrated community service. L.M. Gibson Scholarship Fund: Earned income from this fund will go towards providing graduates of Kingsford High School scholarships for education in a four year or associate degree program in Library Science or Nursing. Golden K Scholarship Fund: Earned income from this fund will go to scholarships for qualified high school graduates of Dickinson County. Health Access Fund: Earned income from this fund used for grants for prevention, primary physical health care, educational and other health-related services. Homeless Prevention Fund: Earned income from this fund used to provides funding to assist people in need to prevent loss of homes. Hunger Fund: Earned income from this fund used for grants to organizations that provide food to people in need. Johnson Scholarship Fund: Earned income from this fund will go to North Dickinson High School students who are pursuing an education in the education or nursing fields. Kellogg Youth Fund: All earned income from this fund is granted by the Dickinson Youth Advisory Committee made up of local youth in the Iron Mountain/Kingsford area. Kingsford Scholarship: Earned income from this fund will go towards providing graduates of Kingsford High School scholarships for education in medical fields. Ethel C. Lind Memorial: Earned income from this fund used to provide scholarship in conjunction with the Grace United Methodist Church. Anne Look Scholarship Fund: Earned income from this fund will go towards providing graduates of Iron Mountain, Kingsford, North Dickinson and Norway high schools with scholarships for education in early childhood and general teaching fields. Gust K. Newberg Scholarship Fund: Earned income from this fund will go towards providing graduates of Iron Mountain, Kingsford, North Dickinson and Norway schools, with scholarships for education in a construction related field. Norway Affiliate Endowment Fund: Earned income from this fund is granted back into the Norway Community by the Affiliate Board members. Norway Affiliate Kellogg Youth Fund: All earned income from this fund is granted by the Norway Youth Advisory Committee made up of youth from the Norway area. Norway Area Scholarship Fund: This fund contains several scholarship funds established to benefit the Norway area graduating high school students. Earned income from this fund is used to provide those scholarships. Rotary Scholarship: Earned income from this fund is used to provide scholarships to graduating students from Iron Mountain and Kingsford High Schools. Unrestricted Endowment: Foundation Board of Trustees determine distribution of income. Visual Arts Fund: Earned income from this fund is granted to promote the visual arts for youth in the area.
The following fund is in the process of being created: WILD Fund: This is a new fund currently being promoted. The WILD (Women Inspiring Leadership & Determination) Fund’s primary purpose is to make a difference in the lives of women and girls in our area. Earned income from this fund will be granted to local non-profit organizations that address issues that impact women and girls, and will also be awarded in scholarships for women of all ages in the area.
