Iron Mountain Area Scholarships Scholarship Funds are established by Donors provide funding for continuing education in areas that are of specific interest to the Donor – for instance, in fields of music, education, nursing, business, construction/engineering, as a few examples. Donors may establish new Funds or donate to existing Funds. The eligibility criteria and scholarship committee members for each scholarship are decided upon by the founding Donor at the time the Agreement is prepared. The earned income from the Scholarship Funds is granted to area students each Spring. £ Caviani, Ron Scholarship Fund: Earned income from this fund will be used to provide scholarships to graduating students who participated in the school Jazz Band classes at Iron Mountain, Kingsford, and Norway High Schools with scholarships to continue their musical education and participate in a university/college sponsored performing ensemble. £ Debelak Scholarship Fund: Earned income from this fund will provide graduates of Iron Mountain High School scholarships for education in the following fields: education (with the exception of those majoring in physical education), mathematics, physics, engineering (including, but not limited to, electrical, chemical, mechanical, civil, computer science, and biochemical). Chemistry, botanical or biological-related sciences (including, but not limited to pre-medicine), psychology, health-care related disciplines (nursing, medical laboratory technology, pharmacology, etc.) or law enforcement (including forensic science and related fields). £ Francis Youth Community Service Scholarship Fund: Earned income from this fund will go towards providing graduates of Iron Mountain, Crystal Falls/Forest Park, Kingsford, North Dickinson and Norway High Schools with scholarship awards in recognition of demonstrated community service. £ Lind (Ethel C.) Memorial: Earned income from this fund used to provide scholarship in conjunction with the Grace United Methodist Church. £ Look (Anne) Scholarship Fund: Earned income from this fund will go towards providing graduates of Iron Mountain, Kingsford, North Dickinson and Norway high schools with scholarships for education in early childhood and general teaching fields. £ Newberg (Gust K.) Construction Scholarship Fund: Earned income from this fund will go towards providing graduates of Iron Mountain, Kingsford, North Dickinson and Norway schools, with scholarships for education in a construction related field. £ Peterson (Robert J.) Eagle Scout Scholarship Fund: All earned income from this fund is used to provide scholarships for graduating students from Florence, Iron Mountain, Kingsford, Niagara and North Dickinson High Schools who have achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scout Program. £ Rotary Scholarship: Earned income from this fund is used to provide scholarships to graduating students from Iron Mountain and Kingsford High Schools. The following fund is in the process of being created: £ WILD Fund: This is a new fund currently being promoted. The WILD (Women Inspiring Leadership & Determination) Fund’s primary purpose is to make a difference in the lives of women and girls in our area. Earned income from this fund will be granted to local non-profit organizations that address issues that impact women and girls, and will also be awarded in scholarships for women of all ages in the area.
